CHARLIE’S TREASURES THRIFT STORE

to benefit The Children’s Home, Inc.

 

 

The Children’s Home has opened its first thrift store location, Charlie’s Treasures.  (Charlie is the child depicted in our logo.) We invite you help us support children and families who have suffered abuse, abandonment or neglect in a new way.  Donate your items, volunteer your time and shop in our new store. 100% of all proceeds from Charlie’s Treasures Thrift Store help provide life changing services that heal the trauma of abuse and neglect, locate “Forever Families”, and prevent the cycle of child abuse and neglect.

 

DONATE.

Do you have some items in your closet that you don’t wear anymore, such as jewelry, shoes and clothing?  What about household items, small appliances, tools and furniture?  Maybe your children have outgrown their toys and games? Perhaps you have some books, DVD’s or CD’s that you no longer use? If you have any of these items, we will be happy to accept them.  Visit us to drop off your items and receive a receipt for your donation.  

 

VOLUNTEER.

Do you have some time to donate?  Do you like to work in a retail environment? Charlie’s Treasures Thrift Store needs volunteers!  If you have some time to donate, we could definitely use your help with sorting donated merchandise, stocking our store and selling merchandise on the sales floor!  This is your chance to help support children and families in our community, by donating your time and talents.  This is also a great opportunity for high school aged youth needing community service hours.

Maybe you are looking for a piece of furniture to furnish room?  How about clothes, games or toys for your kids?  We just might have that perfect piece of clothing or accessory to complete your outfit!  Visit our store for your shopping needs, we carry men’s, women’s and children’s clothing and accessories; household items, furniture and small appliances.  Become a part of helping us prevent child abuse and neglect by supporting Charlie’s Treasures Thrift Store.

In a given year, The Children’s Home will serve 8,000 children and adults in the Tampa Bay Area.  These children include: 120 children annually residing on our beautiful campus where they can heal from the trauma of their abuse;  we then find and support forever families through foster care, kinship care and adoption services; more than 500 children living in foster families assigned by the child welfare system for which we insure their safety, wellbeing and needs are being met; we strenthen thousands of at-risk children and families who access a variety of prevention and outreach services in Pinellas and Hillsborough County offered through our Family Support Centers, support and services to Pinellas and Hillsborough kinship families raising their siblings, grandchildren, nieces or nephews; and oversight, training and support for 30 therapeutic and traditional foster homes; and adoption services for those interested in becoming a forever family for one of the children in our care.
